Transfers

	Stretcher Transportation Service S.M.A.R.T. currently operates several Stretcher Transport Units each staffed by two stretcher attendants licensed in accordance with Manitoba Health regulations. Each unit exceeds all Stretcher Transportation Service Regulations including safety, vehicle specifications, required equipment, and communication equipment. All our units are a Class III Modular units. The benefit for clients and flight escorts include a stand up / walk around patient compartment and full interior access to all equipment. Transport requests are sent by the sending service or ward to our 24 hour dispatch. Details for transport would be obtained and staff would be staged in a dedicated transport unit for immediate receipt of the individual and escort. This reduction in wait times will benefit each air carrier in terms of staff, wages, aircraft availability, and pilot duty times. Simply put, our service is able to provide a better and quicker transfer experience for patients and their attendents.
