As a part of the Firefighter Level II program, students are required to plan and execute a community event. The Fall 2009 class decided to organize and host an OPEN HOUSE at the Winnipeg Fire Academy to help raise funds for the Firefighters Burn Fund. Thank you to each student and attendee for making this event such a success!
Fire Academy Update -
Thank you to the members of those Fire Departments that assist us for your time and effort as our students worked together with you to train on live apparatus. The true Manitoba weather also made this training as Canadian as it can get.

SMART is comitted to helping community events and charitable
organizations whenever possible. SMART co-sponsored a fund raising car
wash and BBQ. The team "Wet Socks" raised $300 for the Childrens Wish
Foundation! This teams dedication to helping others in need is
inspiring and reflective of SMART's mandate. Way to go team!
Fall 2008: Thanks to Green Acres Fire Trucks and Carrier Fire for supplying us with the top of the line Ford F550 Rescue with Foam Pump Unit. It's first call to service was to the St. Vital Mall to aid in promotion of our Fire Academy. The response was fantastic.
With the September Fire Academy Class nearing completion, November's Class underway, and December's right around the corner, we are already starting to fill courses for 2009. Thank you to all of the students for helping us provide the Firefighter Level II program of choice in Manitoba.
Thank you to all of the staff at Careflite, Fire Training Division, and Life Star for your generosity, time, attention, and southern hospitality. Dave and Brad recently completed their trip to Dallas , Texas as they worked towards developing and improving EMS and Fire Training and Care in Manitoba, Canada. There is always room for improvement and learning from those who have more knowledge and experience. I am once again reminded that excellence in patient care and serving others should be at the forefront, and how we achieve that is to always be our goal. We must always strive to do better. Once again thank you to all those who took their time and effort to help us help others.
